Well blow me down, BG didn't get to play in the end coz some yahoos started fighting and the police closed down the main stage not long before they were due to go on. How annoying, and a rotten thing for a fun event, grrr.
Still, they got their BBC namecheck!

Yay - I had Gareth on my flight to Atlanta again!! I was looking around thinking wouldnt it be funny if he was and the next thing I spotted him! Hair is long and he was sporting some lengthy stubble ( bet he shaves it off before tomorow!) wearing faded blue jeans that were hanging very low (so blue boxers as well... I saw!)
And he recognised me - gave me a eyebrow raise in greeting in the departure lounge! Think the red hair is very useful...I actualy had a better seat than him - I had the leg room at at the front., he was further back.
Very amusingly, one of the film choices on the flight was Dragonball - so I had to watch it!
Later in the flight I was standing at the back talking and he came down to the loo and said Hi to me in passing. I couldn't resist when he came back saying, Gareth - I have to ask one question - are you watching Dragonball? he said no - as he had already seen it...!
As he passed me when getting off the plane - he said "bye - see you later!" (he spoke to me nd I answered)
I was in the same immigration queue as him at (3 people behind, which is when I spotted the boxers!) but didnt see him again after that.
Must say, scruffy Gareth is sexier than Ianto... He is getting better looking as hes going along (I cant say as he gets older cos hes such a young whippersnapper!) - very aware of his blue eyes in those few seconds talking to him!

From a GDL Yahoo group:
Gareth did a panel this morning with James Marsters and he was so adorable. The Brit Trak people who were running the panel had made a special video as a tribute to Ianto. It was beautiful and it make me cry. I am pretty sure that I saw Gareth wipe his eyes too.
Aw.

On Twitter: HOW am I expected to work knowing people are at Dragon*Con with Gareth David-Lloyd, doing TEQUILA SHOTS?! ;D The Ianto Jones Experience, Daily DragonGareth David-Lloyd and James Marsters were cutting up right from the start of Friday’s panel “Torchwood: The Captain Jack Experience.” Over the next hour, the two delighted the audience and interviewer Rob Levy with their stories of on-set camaraderie, and the fans returned the favor with a gorgeous tribute video to one Ianto Jones.
“Captain Jack?” asked David-Lloyd as he sat down. “Where the [expletive deleted] is he?” In fact, the panel was more focused on David-Lloyd’s character Ianto Jones, who (spoiler alert!) meets a tragic end in the recently aired Torchwood: Children of Earth. Before the questions began, panel attendees watched a several-minute tribute put together by Dragon*Con staff and fans. The video celebrated some of Ianto’s best moments in the show as a friend, fighter, lover, and consummate goof.
While nobody seemed happy to bid goodbye to the Torchwood Institute’s wisecracking butler-turned-investigator – “It’s all right! It’s only a TV show!” David-Lloyd told a toddler who burst into tears – the actor declared himself satisfied with the way Ianto’s story ended. He revealed that Ianto’s past was very similar to his own, and that the backstory in Children of Earth was quite close to what he had imagined for the character.
The original death scene, however, did not sit well with David-Lloyd; “I thought it should be as unremarkable, as pointless as possible,” he said, to evoke the dark realism that makes the fantasy of Torchwood more believable. Fortunately, Russell T. Davies rewrote Ianto’s swan song during shooting, and the night it aired, he sent David-Lloyd a message that he confessed “brought a tear to [his] eye.”
Marsters cut the sadness with anecdotes on the antics of John Barrowman, who plays Ianto’s central love interest, Captain Jack. “[Barrowman] will not allow a set to get too serious or too sleepy,” Marsters said. When actors started to droop, “John’s solution was to drop trou! We did a whole take with his pants down.” The Buffy veteran also confessed that he was intimidated about doing a kissing scene with Barrowman: “I didn’t have a whole lot of homophobia … but kissing someone who’s bigger than you is different from kissing people who are smaller than you.” To this David-Lloyd deftly replied, “He’s not that much bigger than you.”
Of course, one Ianto devotee asked the million-pound question: Is there a chance he might return? “For some reason I feel like I should do this in my Shatner voice,” David-Lloyd told her, and drawled: “There’s always a chance.”

OK, so I finally went to Dragon Con. It was fun. Mostly.
Got up hella early, took Marta down, waited in line FIVE MILLION HOURS for a badge, and then the fun began. I went to the Torchwood Panel, which had Gareth David Lloyd and James Marsters at it, which was hilarious and great. They told a lot of cute stories and we all laughed al ot and I took a ton of pics of them. And then the panel was over and the guys went to the celeb signing thing so I went there too.
So the first one I get an autograph from was Gareth and he's so nice and genuine and awesome (OMG TRYING NOT TO GET ALL FANGIRLY HERE BUT OMG SERIOUSLY HE CALLED ME SWEETHEART LIKE TEN TIMES!! EEEEEEEEEEE! IN HIS ACCENT!) and he talked to me for several minutes. Like a nice, normal person. Which was great. It kept me from getting all fangirly and screaming incomprehensible things at him. (WELSH ACCENT IN REAL LIFE = 10,000% MORE AWESOME THAN ON TV 4SRS)Bentochan

YetAnotherJournalI went back to the Sheraton for the Torchwood panel, which featured Gareth David Lloyd and James Marsters. [hormonal drool alert] Gareth has grown a beard like Orlando Bloom's and while I've never liked OB much, Gareth looked reallllly nice in the beard. [hormonal alert over] Very good-natured panel with Lloyd talking about keeping his demise in "Children of Earth" a secret and Marsters telling about his son's search for the perfect guitar. One really funny moment: audience member asks Lloyd what his least favorite question at conventions is. He retorted "'What's it like to kiss John Barrowman?'" LOL. That one brought down the house. Another audience member looked at him and said "Sorry you're dead." Even more LOL. There was also a Ianto Memorial Film.
Go see the pretty pic, too.

Gareth David-Lloyd was right next to James Marsters but... I couldn't quite get up the nerve to get his autograph. I'm not sure "But he's so adorable!" would have gone over well with my dad. And I haven't exactly ever seen Torchwood before. He is adorable though. I had looked up pictures of him a few weeks ago and been like... I can't tell if he's hot. But now I know.bowserbabeAw.

Gareth is executive producing and starring in student film at the International Film School Wales:
With the fate of creation in your hands, could you destroy it for love? A story of unrequited love, set on a backdrop of temporal paradox. Alice has a choice to make, stay with her true love and risk the collapse of the space time Continuum, or take more drastic measures to ensure all of creation isn't erased.
Alice is thrown through time and into her own past. She finds her true love in Dr. Robert Cameron, however if she embraces this love she risks a paradox that could undo all of creation. She must lie low and buy her time until she can find a way out.
Cromwell Jackson has knowledge of Alice sent back by his future self. He is most insistent that she and Dr Cameron comply with his wishes and allow him to gain a technological dominance at the risk of a paradox.
Sounds terrific!

Hee, I was quite excited to hear about Gareth being in a Sherlock Holmes thing, but as more emerges about it, I realise it's not quite the way I thought ;D Holmes and monsters? My word! But then again... could be fun, in an Alien Western kinda way ;D And I have a soft spot for Dominic Keating (like I had a soft spot for ST: Enterprise; not many people seemed to, sadly). Lookee. G is busy busy busy! I'd bet he has even more lined up too.
